I have only been out of the US a couple of times, not including driving across the Canada and Mexico borders. I took myself to Paris and my first day is off with a bang. Because this is my birthday trip, I spent a little extra on some perks like a car service to pick me up at the Airport. It was not the best of situations. Because my flight came in 30 minutes early and upgraded to priority booking, I got through Customs much faster than I expected. I ended up waiting over an hour for the driver to get there. It would have been cheaper and quicker to get an Uber X. I will remember that for next time.
Here are some images from my first day, including a walk around Notre Dame. It is not open until December, but it was still worth it—such beautiful detailing on the exterior. My cousin and I walked along the Seine. We stopped by the Shakespeare and Company bookstore. Honestly it was lost on me why a books store is a place to go, but my cousin assures me it was a popular place. A modest 4 miles today, but it was on two hours of sleep. More to come.

how was the flight over?! Was business class worth it and what you hoped it would be? Looking forwarding to more posts!

It is hard to compare since I have never flown that far before. I did a 2-hour flight and it was hard to be that still. Anything over 4 hours I start getting fidgety. It was hard to sleep but I was able to switch over without any jet-lag.
