I had a full day yesterday and pushed through to get past the jet lag. Now, I’m starting fresh with a whole night of sleep. Like at home, I went to bed at 10:30 and got up at 5:30. I feel refreshed. I walked past the Arc of De Triomphe before the city really got moving on my way to meeting up with a tour group to see Versailles. Before the trip, I stopped at a quaint cafè to have a European breakfast… a croissant and cafè.

On my way back, I jumped off the metro near the Effiel Tower for a quick photo. With all the paralympic security and roads blocked off, the 1.5 miles to my cousins turned into a 3.5-mile hike. By The time I got back at 3 I walked 7.25 miles and 16k plus steps. Here are some photos. I took hundreds, so this is a fraction

I finshed the day with a dinner cruise with my cousins.

At the top of every hour, the Eiffel Tower lights up, and the boat captain times it perfectly for after dinner.

I Finished the day with 22,000 steps and 9.97 miles of walking.

  1. Nic, looks like an awesome trip you’re off to! I browsed through tour trip logs and lived the pics. Favorites so far: Paris… the Arc in the morning light and the Eiffel Tower video. Turkey… Camlica Mosque from the river.

    Have a blast, amigo! – Joe S.
